CUMBERLAND FARMS OPENS NEWEST STORE WITH Fundraiser to Benefit Biddeford High School

(Biddeford, ME –January 27, 2010)  - Cumberland Farms today celebrated the grand opening of its newest convenience store here, with a fundraiser to support the students at Biddeford High School.

Starting today the company will donate 20 cents from every ChillZone beverage and cup of coffee sold at the new store.  Cumberland Farms intends to raise at least $1,000 for the general activity fund.

“We are grateful for the support of Cumberland Farms,” said Biddeford High School Principal Britton Wolfe. “Our students deserve to learn in the best environment we can give them. The monies raised will help pay for field trips, motivational speakers and enrichment experiences for needy students among other activities.”

Visitors to the new Cumberland Farms at 564 Alfred Street will experience a wide variety of sandwiches that can be toasted on site, to thick chocolate milkshakes, flatbread breakfast sandwiches and even personal pepperoni pizzas, the new menu is squarely focused on fresh food, and is steeped in the company’s farm-family heritage. Customers can be their own baristas at the coffee bar, stocked with the delicious new Farmhouse Blend, or opt for a cold beverage at the trademark ChillZone.

“We look forward to making life a little bit easier for the high school, and the entire city of Biddeford,” said Mr. Ari Haseotes, president of Cumberland Farms Retail Division. “Our customers will enjoy the convenience of a single stop to fulfill a number of needs, whether that’s a sandwich and a cup of coffee, a full gas tank or even a cell phone charger.”
