CUMBERLAND FARMS CELEBRATES WILLIAMSTOWN

(Williamstown, MA –December 21, 2009)  - Cumberland Farms declared today “Williamstown Day” as it kicked off the grand re-opening of its newest convenience store here.

As part of the celebration the convenience store is holding a fundraiser to benefit the Williamstown Food Pantry. Starting today the company will donate 20 cents from every ChillZone beverage and cup of coffee sold here to the help those in need this holiday season. The goal is to raise at least $1,000 for the pantry.

Cumberland Farms rebuilt the store at 446 Main Street after suffering a devastating fire this summer. The new store is built with the latest Cumberland Farms design. Visitors will notice a change upon taking the first step through the front door.  From a wide variety of sandwiches that can be toasted on site, to thick chocolate milkshakes, flatbread breakfast sandwiches and even personal pepperoni pizzas, the new menu is squarely focused on fresh food, and is steeped in the company’s farm-family heritage. Customers can be their own baristas at the coffee bar, stocked with the delicious new Farmhouse Blend, or opt for a cold beverage at the trademark ChillZone.

As part of the community wide celebration Williamstown Town Manager, Peter Fohlin will present a proclamation to Cumberland Farms acknowledging the donation to the food pantry.

“Cumberland Farms’ generous donation will help save Christmas,” said Carol DeMayo, Williamstown Food Pantry Coordinator.  “We have seen many new faces this year and thanks to this fundraiser we will have the funds to purchase meat for our holiday dinner.”

The new Cumberland Farms will make life easier for the community.

“We love Williamstown and are pleased to open our doors here again,” said Mr. Ari Haseotes, President of Cumberland Farms Retail Division.
